A Three-Piece Summer Wedding Suit: Clean, Breathable, and Versatile

For this client, we developed a three-piece wedding suit that radiates calmness, clarity, and structure. The suit is made from a Blue Contrast Solid fabric from the Crispaire collection by Holland & Sherry, woven from 100% wool with a weight of 280 - 310 grams. Due to the open weave structure, the fabric is particularly well-suited for warmer weather: lightweight, breathable, and crease-resistant. Ideal for a summer wedding — and still wearable for years to come in business or formal settings.

The Jacket: Classic and Functional

The jacket is cut as a two-button single-breasted model with moderately wide notch lapels. The combination of the firm, cool wool with a timeless design gives the jacket a versatile character: equally appropriate on a wedding day as in a business meeting or at a formal dinner. The straight flap pockets emphasize the simplicity of the design and keep the overall look understated.

The Waistcoat: Double-Breasted and Full of Character

The double-breasted waistcoat adds a formal accent to the ensemble. It features a 2x4 button configuration and elegant peak lapels, offering depth and style. This type of waistcoat works especially well for occasions where you might take off the jacket — it maintains a distinct, dressed-up appearance and keeps the formal tone intact.

The Trousers: Simple and Wearable

The trousers are cut with slanted side pockets, a zip fly, and belt loops – practical and familiar, with a focus on comfort and usability. Combined with the fresh blue colour and breathable fabric, they provide an excellent base for other combinations. Think of pairing the trousers with a white shirt and just the waistcoat, or wearing the full three-piece look as intended.

More Than Just a Wedding Suit

One of the key goals behind this design was to create a wedding suit that wouldn’t disappear into the closet after the big day. By choosing a structured, breathable summer wool, a classic cut, and a colour that’s neither too formal nor too loud, we’ve created a three-piece suit that can be worn well beyond the wedding. Separately or as a whole — this is an investment in style, not just sentiment.

The Versatility of a Blue Wedding Suit

Blue has been the most popular colour for wedding suits for years — and for good reason. It conveys calmness, confidence, and elegance, without the distance of black or the informality of lighter shades. Moreover, blue pairs well with a wide range of accessories, shoes, and background colours, making it especially suitable for both formal and informal weddings.

There’s a wide spectrum of blue tones to choose from. Navy and midnight blue are classic and timeless, ideal for an evening wedding or formal setting. Royal blue or cobalt draw more attention and give the suit a lively, festive look. Light blue and blue-grey work well for summer outdoor weddings or beach locations, and appear fresh and relaxed.
