Bespoke Suit Cashmere Mock Glen
A beautiful assignment where we had the privilege of creating a suit for a successful hospitality entrepreneur who travels extensively and sees his clothing style as an extension of his British heritage and the classical values he stands for.
This jacket model is designed with several classic and artisanal details that reflect the rich history of tailoring.
The cut peak lapels, for example, are a traditional detail still used in high-quality bespoke tailoring, and the 5 kissing buttons on the sleeve signify handiwork, with each button individually attached.
The use of a full canvas interior of haircloth, as opposed to synthetic materials, provides a better fit and durability.
Additionally, the fabric choice of Cape Horn, a wool-cashmere blend, is of high quality, ensuring comfort and breathability—essential for someone constantly on the move in the hospitality industry.
2 Trousers with the Suit
The design with 2 trousers makes the suit more durable and resistant to frequent wearing and dry cleaning.
The trousers, with featured details such as the fishtail, turnup, and side adjusters/belts of bronzed metal on the waistband, has various effects on the wearer's appearance and feel.
Firstly, these details give the trousers a classic and timeless look, harmonizing well with the jacket and the overall style of the suit. The fishtail is a detail often found in classic trousers, evoking a sense of tradition and heritage.
Moreover, the 3 cm turnup can contribute to the trousers' appearance, giving the wearer a more casual and relaxed feel. This can be especially beneficial for a traveling entrepreneur seeking comfortable and versatile clothing.
Finally, the side adjusters/belts on the waistband of bronzed metal can provide a better fit and comfort for the wearer. Avoiding belts and having the option to adjust the waistband can enhance the overall aesthetic of the trousers, contributing to a sense of craftsmanship and bespoke tailoring.
The fact that the suit is made based on the individual measurements of the customer ensures a perfect fit and wearing comfort.
The Cape Horn fabric from Holland & Sherry is a beautiful and luxurious material perfectly suited for crafting a high-quality suit.
Made from a blend of 99% super 100's wool and 1% cashmere, this fabric not only feels soft and comfortable but also boasts a beautiful sheen and appearance.
The bright blue mock glen pattern gives this suit a contemporary twist, providing a striking and unique look. The fabric's weight, 340gm 11oz, ensures a beautiful drape and full-bodied structure that complements the lines of a bespoke suit made from British fabric.
Ideal for both formal and semi-formal occasions, this fabric can easily be paired with a wide range of accessories and shoes.
Our bespoke suits, jackets, waistcoats, trousers and shirts can be worn for business as well as for weddings.
Custom-Made Wool-Cashmere Blazer with Purple Check
A well-tailored blazer combines style, comfort, and character. This handcrafted blazer is made from a wool-cashmere fabric with a subtle grey-toned check pattern, enhanced by a refined purple overcheck. The fabric originates from Italy and offers both a luxurious appearance and surprising versatility: suitable for formal appointments, business settings, and stylish weekend combinations.
For a special occasion, we were commissioned to create a bespoke jacket that goes beyond mere aesthetics. The wearer will don this garment during an official visit by H.M. King Willem-Alexander 🇳🇱, and requested a design that is at once personal, representative, and symbolic.
Fabric as the Starting Point
The fabric is an exclusive design by Dutch designer Aziz Bekkaoui. Bekkaoui is renowned for his layered, culturally resonant designs in which identity, elegance, and social commentary converge. This particular fabric carries that signature: a visually powerful statement, with enough subtlety to allow for refined bespoke tailoring.
A Double-Breasted Suit in Mid-Brown Glen Check – Stylish, Refined, and Worn with Confidence
A well-tailored suit is more than a piece of clothing: it’s an extension of the wearer’s personality. In this version, the classic double-breasted silhouette is combined with a richly detailed Mid Brown Glen Check. The result is a suit that stands out through stylish refinement rather than loud statements.
Formal tailoring in its purest form
A white suit immediately evokes images of evening wear, summer formality, and a touch of Hollywood glamour. But when it comes to a bespoke 4x1 double-breasted suit in white barathea, we’re speaking about something very specific: a garment that balances classical ceremony with modern confidence.
Elegance and Freedom of Movement on Stage
For conductors, clothing is never just clothing. It must contribute to the presence, authority, and fluidity with which a concert is led. A conductor moves intensely, is constantly visible to both musicians and audience, and must be able to rely on a wardrobe that moves effortlessly with him — without compromising on style or refinement.
At De Oost, we design our Donegal Tweed jackets for those who value true craftsmanship and quality. This garment is not just a blazer; it represents a centuries-old tradition rooted in the rugged landscapes of Ireland, where Donegal fabric has been produced for generations.
But what makes a Donegal Tweed jacket so special? The answer lies in the fabric, the style, and the thoughtful choices that lead to a garment that is both functional and elegant.

You've probably heard the term Business Casual before, but how do you create a business casual suit?
What exactly is a business casual suit?
In this video I explain this to you using such a suit that you can wear for business but also outside.
As far as I'm concerned, a business casual suit is a suit consisting of 3 parts that you can wear as 1 set. And also as separate parts, so the waistcoat and jacket, for example, on jeans.

Every custom-tailored suit jacket has a factor that you don't see but is the core of the entire outfit(?)
This factor is the story of the customer around whom the jacket is designed and built. So, it's not about the associations communicated by a brand, as with branded clothing, but truly about your own standards and values.
What we mean is that our clients have a reason (their story) for having a suit jacket tailor-made and choose to express this through their clothing style.

What is an unlined blazer or jacket?
An unlined blazer has no lining on the inside of the jacket and/or sleeves. There are various ways to assemble and finish a blazer. Here, we specifically refer to the inner workings, and in the case of unlined jackets, the absence of an inner lining, eliminating the need for covering.
A blazer stripe is not for the faint of heart. Especially when the model is double breasted.
Let's take a little journey to go over this bespoke tailored suit and what it features and why.
Tweed is a beautiful material for the contemporary gentleman who likes to dress in style
We tailor beautiful jackets and sports coats from Tweed but also suits, waistcoats and trousers.
A jacket made from Tweed is the ideal all-rounder that combines style and comfort for the stylish dressed man.
One of the most characteristic sports coats ever invented is the Norfolk Jacket
In this article we feature the history and style of this classical British garment.
History of the Norfolk jacket
It is uncertain what the origin of the Norfolk Jacket is. One theory claims that it was originally invented in the 1860’s as a hunting jacket by the 15th Duke of Norfolk.
In short you could say that Unlined or Unstructured jackets are the most natural fitting and draping jackets
Before we go into the benefits of an unstructured jacket, we need to do a short history lesson first. After WW2 the majority of men would wear a suit because they had to. Alongside that we have seen men who aspired to create their own success and businesses which led to different play fields with new dress codes and possibilities to express yourself with your personal style. Actually we could see them as the contemporary Dandy.
De Oost Bespoke Tailoring is a house of craft and passion so we can tailor using several ways of construction
This is a short explanation about the 4 common methods used by Bespoke Tailors.
Full Canvassed Jackets
Traditionally, men’s suits were constructed with a layer of horsehair canvas underneath the wool fabric shell. This canvas holds the shape of the suit and keeps it from sagging or deforming, much like the foundation of a house keeps it upright. The canvas is cut to the jacket’s shape, then the wool is stitched to the canvas. Over time, as you wear the jacket, the canvas conforms to your body’s shape, creating an excellent fit.
There are many possible variations in the choice of the style, the garments and the details of a suit. Of course, during your appointment at De Oost we will make sure you make the right decisions.
This will result in an exactly right fitting suit, that has all the details you have asked for. To give you an impression of all the possible options, we will share some of our knowledge in this blog.
At the turn of the century, if a man owned one suit, it was usually the old "trusty blue serge"
Its navy jacket topped white flannels, making the first nationally accepted weekend leisure ensemble. Coming into its own as daytime wear for the man who needed a bridge between the informal and the formal, the navy two-piece was the first lounge suit to be accorded the status of a modern business uniform.
A client came to visit us to say he was still extremely happy with the jacket we made for him in 2012. Back in 2012 he was imagining how it would look if we would create a suit out of two same color and pattern sarongs. A sarong or "sarung" denotes the lower garment worn typically by the Indonesian.
