Tailcoat British Equestrian.

This red tailcoat has its origins in the tradition of fox hunting in Britain, where wearing this striking colour had a practical function in making riders highly visible to the hounds and other hunters during the hunt.

The fabric of the jacket is a cavalry twill of 630 grams from the Glenhunt collection by Bateman & Ogden. Particularly sturdy and wear-resistant, yet very attractive.

Although fox hunting in Britain has changed in some respects since then, the red tailcoat remains an iconic symbol of British equestrian tradition.

The coat is deep red in colour, often referred to as "hunting pink" (Legend has it that this was named after the tailor who designed it; Pink, or Pinque, but there are different theories about that).
